In Bursa, a person who introduced himself as a police officer claimed that his brother had been kidnapped and took 1 million lira worth of jewelry from a citizen before fleeing.
In the Nilüfer district of Bursa, E.K. (25), who introduced himself as a police officer, called Z.M.M. (26) and asked him to bring all the jewelry in the house, claiming that his brother had been kidnapped. Believing that the caller was a police officer, Z.M.M. handed over all the jewelry in the house to the suspect.
FAKE POLICE FLED WITH 1 MILLION LIRA WORTH OF JEWELRY
E.K., who took approximately 1 million lira worth of 8 thousand dollars, 8 thousand euros, 2 gold rings, 1 pair of gold earrings, 5 bracelets, 2 gold necklaces, and 5 republic gold coins, fled to Istanbul. After a while, realizing that he had been scammed, Z.M.M. went to the Nilüfer Police Station to file a complaint.
CAUGHT RED-HANDED
The teams from the Fraud Bureau of the Bursa Police Department, which took action, examined approximately 50 security cameras from the location where the incident occurred to identify the suspect's whereabouts. The teams, who initiated the operation, captured E.K. While the suspect was taken to the Public Order Branch for questioning, the jewelry belonging to Z.M.M. was returned. After giving his statement, E.K. was arrested by the court and sent to prison.
