The suspect was neutralized by police at the scene and apprehended; the horrific moments of the attack on his uncle were captured on a citizen's mobile phone camera.
ARGUMENT TURNS INTO MACHETE FIGHT
The incident occurred around 16:30 in a green area on Namık Kemal Street in the Kavaklı neighborhood of Gölcük district. An argument broke out between E.K. and his uncle İbrahim K. for an undetermined reason. When the argument quickly turned into a fight, the enraged nephew attacked his uncle with a machete.
UNCLE LOSES HIS LIFE AT THE SCENE
During the scuffle, Uncle İbrahim K., who fell into the green area with fig trees, was severely wounded by successive machete blows from his nephew. The suspect E.K. was also injured in the incident, and upon reports from bystanders, numerous medical and police teams were dispatched to the area.
Police teams arriving quickly at the scene neutralized and apprehended the suspect E.K. along with the weapon. Medical checks revealed that the severely injured Uncle İbrahim K. had died at the scene.
