A tragic incident occurred in Malaysia's Sabah State. A 50-year-old fisherman, Ridwan Nawir, was attacked by a crocodile while setting a net in the river. The incident took place on the morning of September 30. Witnesses reported seeing Nawir being pulled into the water by the crocodile. Fire chief Mohammad Omarbatha explained that the crocodile held the victim in its mouth and swam on the surface for a while before diving down. Search and rescue teams immediately sprang into action. However, the operations were halted when night fell. The following morning, after the search resumed, Nawir's dismembered body was found. Unfortunately, some parts of the body were missing. This incident highlights how dangerous human-wildlife conflict can be in areas inhabited by crocodiles. Authorities are warning people living or working in such areas to be very cautious. Similar incidents are occurring in other parts of the world. For example, in Australia, a woman was attacked by a crocodile in front of her friend in the past. These kinds of tragic events remind us of the importance of respecting natural habitats and adhering to safety rules. One must always remain vigilant while living in close proximity to wildlife.
