POLICE OFFICER REMOVED FROM DUTY
Following the spread of the images, the Istanbul Provincial Police Department took action. In a statement, the police department announced that the police officer A.Y., who was driving the vehicle, had been removed from duty, stating, "On January 22, 2025, at around 04:40, an investigation has been initiated by the Istanbul Police Department regarding the images shared on social media, showing two women taking pictures in front of an official police vehicle and subsequently getting into the team vehicle. It has been understood that during the incident in the Kavakpınar neighborhood of Pendik district, the police officer named A.Y. was alone in the police vehicle, that the women requested help because they were scared, claiming that they were being followed by a vehicle, and that they could not go home. The police officer related to the matter has been removed from duty, and necessary procedures have been initiated."
