In the scope of the investigation conducted by the Bolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against the municipality and its subsidiary companies, out of 12 suspects referred to the courthouse on charges of 'embezzlement' and 'laundering of assets derived from crime,' the Special Secretary Özgür Nihat Yıldız was arrested, while 11 others were released.
On the morning of July 1, gendarmerie teams initiated the 6th wave operation as part of the investigation conducted by the Bolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against Bolu Municipality and its subsidiary companies.
10 MORE SUSPECTS DETAINED
In simultaneous raids on charges of 'embezzlement' and 'laundering of assets derived from crime', the General Manager of Bolu Municipal Companies, who is also the Private Secretary Director Özgür Nihat Yıldız, along with İ.Ç., O.Ö., S.G., V.Y., S.G., Y.G., İ.G., D.M., and A.K., who work in municipal subsidiaries, were taken into custody.
During detailed searches at the suspects' homes and municipal offices, numerous documents and digital materials were seized for examination. On July 2, as the investigation continued, two more individuals were summoned to give statements to the gendarmerie, raising the total number of suspects to 12.
PRIVATE SECRETARY DIRECTOR YILDIZ ARRESTED
After three days of detention at the Provincial Gendarmerie Command, the 12 suspects were referred to the courthouse. Following their statements to the prosecutor's office, three suspects were released. Of the nine suspects referred to the duty court, eight were released under judicial control. Özgür Nihat Yıldız, Bolu Municipality Private Secretary Director, was arrested and sent to prison on charges of 'embezzlement' and 'laundering of assets derived from crime'.
