As part of the corruption investigation launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB), 2 more individuals have been detained out of the 18 people for whom detention orders were issued. Thus, the total number of detainees has risen to 17.

Two more suspects have been detained as part of the investigation into the İBB (Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality), bringing the total number of detainees to 17.

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office is continuing the investigation against the suspects, including Ekrem İmamoğlu, who was suspended from his position as the Mayor of İBB after his arrest, on charges of "being a leader of a criminal organization," "being a member of a criminal organization," "bribery," "qualified fraud," "misappropriation of personal data," and "interfering with a tender."

2 MORE PEOPLE DETAINED

As part of the investigation, 2 more of the 18 suspects, who were subject to detention orders for the crimes of "giving bribes," "receiving bribes," and "interfering with a tender," have been detained. Thus, the number of suspects in custody has risen to 17. The suspects are expected to be transferred to the Istanbul Courthouse tomorrow.

WHAT HAPPENED?

As a result of the evidence obtained in the deepened investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, detention orders were issued for 18 suspects on charges of "giving bribes," "receiving bribes," and "interfering with a tender."

In an operation carried out by the Financial Crimes Unit of the Istanbul Police Department on July 18, 15 suspects were detained.
