The Housing Price Index (HPI) increased by 4.7% month-on-month and 31.9% year-on-year in January 2025. The price increases in the three major cities were determined to be 3% in Istanbul, 5.7% in Ankara, and 4.9% in Izmir.

The Housing Price Index (HPI) increased by 4.7% month-on-month and 31.9% year-on-year in January 2025. The HPI, calculated to track the price changes of housing in Turkey adjusted for quality effects (2023=100), rose to 165.9 in January, an increase of 4.7% compared to the previous month.



ANKARA AND IZMIR OUTPERFORMED ISTANBUL



While the Housing Price Index increased by 31.9% year-on-year in January, the real decrease during this period was 7.2%. Looking at the changes in the Housing Price Index for the three major cities, there was an increase of 3% in Istanbul, 5.7% in Ankara, and 4.9% in Izmir compared to the previous month. Compared to the same month of the previous year, the index values increased by 29.6% in Istanbul and Izmir, and by 36.6% in Ankara.
