After the Turkish Football Federation announced that a foreign referee would officiate the Galatasaray-Fenerbahçe derby, former national football player and coach Vedat İnceefe made striking claims about the prominent Slovenian referee Slavko Vincic. İnceefe stated, "Vincic has a closeness to one team. Everyone knows the person who owns this team."
Former national football player and coach Vedat İnceefe evaluated the foreign referee decision made by the Turkish Football Federation for the Galatasaray-Fenerbahçe derby. İnceefe made statements about Slovenian referee Slavko Vincic, whose name has come to the forefront, that will be widely discussed.
GALATASARAY DID NOT WANT VINCIC
Upon learning that one of the names was Slavko Vincic, Galatasaray Club took action and informed the TFF that they did not want Vincic due to Fenerbahçe Vice President Acun Ilıcalı's ownership of Maribor Club in Slovenia. The 45-year-old referee, born in Maribor, also has close ties with Slovenian UEFA President Alexander Cefer.
"FROM NOW ON, EVERYONE WILL WANT FOREIGN REFEREES"
Vedat İnceefe's statements during evaluations on Habertürk were as follows;
"What are the advantages, we will see after the match is played. The disadvantage is that this is the day the MHK (Referee Association) ended. You have sidelined all the referees you have. From now on, everyone else will want foreign referees. It will continue like this.
"WE WILL LOSE TURKISH REFEREES"
We will lose all our Turkish referees. How did this situation come to be? Since the beginning of the season, there has been talk of, 'There is a structure, and within this structure, there are these and those.' And finally, we have come to this point.
"HE HAS A CONNECTION TO A TEAM"
Slovenian referee Slavko Vincic has a connection to a team. Everyone knows who the owner of this team is. If this referee Vincic is appointed, things will get completely complicated.
"IT WOULD BE A BIG SCANDAL"
After such news came out (Galatasaray's refusal of Slavko Vincic), if something is to be done regarding this referee, it would lead to very big scandals. My guess is that the federation will have to do something else.
"THE MHK PRESIDENT SHOULD NOT SIT IN THAT CHAIR"
We will talk in more detail. Murat Fevzi Tanırlı said, "They said this is the day the MHK ended. How will you support Turkish referees from now on? You have faced difficulties in the actions you have taken until now; why are you sitting in that chair while experiencing these difficulties?" In my opinion, he is right. Ferhat Gündoğdu should no longer sit in that chair. After a foreign referee manages a derby, this person should not be sitting here.
"EVERY DECISION MADE BY A FOREIGN REFEREE WILL BE DISPUTED"
Things will now reach a different point. Every decision made by a foreign referee will again be disputed. Good or bad. You cannot end these criticisms. As a federation, you need to stand firm. You should stand by your own children. Federation President Hacıosmanoğlu had stated that he trusted the referees and did not consider foreign referees, but the current situation started with foreign VAR. Then, referees began to enter the field. You can no longer control this. Why? Because there are not only derbies, but also important matches ahead. Everyone will want foreign referees. What will happen to Turkish referees? Who managed the first match? Atilla Karaoğlan. Was there a problem? No. The only thing to be discussed was the penalty given against Galatasaray. Other than that, nothing was discussed. If you place these referees somewhere just because people will talk, you won't be able to find referees to manage matches in the future.
GALATASARAY DID NOT WANT, TFF REJECTED
As a result of consultations at the TFF, the names of Slovenian Slavko Vincic, Romanian Istvan Kovacs, French Clement Turpin, and Polish Szymon Marciniak came to the forefront for the Galatasaray-Fenerbahçe derby.
On the other hand, the federation responded immediately to the yellow-reds' request. According to the news from Yağız Sabuncuoğlu; TFF gave a negative response to Galatasaray after the Vincic application. TFF informed the clubs that they would not respond to the requests of both teams regarding the foreign central referee to be appointed for the derby. It was stated that the final decision would be jointly made by the TFF and MHK and announced to the public through the official site.
