Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a phone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. The leaders expressed their support for Israel's right to defend itself against Iran's threats.
In Israel's attacks targeting not only Iran's capital Tehran but also the provinces of Kermanshah, East Azerbaijan (Tabriz), Qom, Lorestan, and Hamadan, 78 people lost their lives, and 329 were injured.
Among the targeted locations in Tehran were the residences of some high-ranking commanders affiliated with the Iranian Army and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. In the attacks, Iranian Chief of General Staff Mohammad Bagheri and Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Hossein Salami were killed.
In the attacks on Tehran, nuclear scientists Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi and Faridun Abbasi were also killed.
SUPPORT FOR ISRAEL FROM PUTIN AND TRUMP
Following these attacks, the Israeli Prime Minister's Office announced that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had a phone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. The statement said, "The leaders expressed understanding of Israel's need to defend itself against the threat of Iran's destruction. The Prime Minister will continue to be in contact with them in the coming days."
The statement also noted that Netanyahu had spoken with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and French President Emmanuel Macron since last night.
