"GRADE AVERAGES NEAR 100"
Minister Tekin firmly rejected the allegations that it was suspicious for 719 students to receive full marks in the LGS, emphasizing that these students' school success scores were also consistent with their exam results. Stating that "the grade averages of students who received full marks are near 100," Minister Tekin noted, "The 719 students came from 544 different schools in 66 provinces and 211 districts. 9% of these students graduated from imam hatip middle schools."
ALLEGATION OF PDF IMAGE IN DIYARBAKIR
Responding to allegations that a teacher in Diyarbakır shared the exam booklet as a PDF before the exam, Tekin stated that this was a video taken on the exam day and that there was no leakage. "On that day, 55 rule violation reports were made nationwide, and this incident was one of them. We initiated an investigation on the same day," Tekin said, adding that the teacher in question took a photo of the exam booklet of a student who did not participate in the exam and later shared these images with four tutoring center teachers.
WHO ARE THE ONES UNDER INVESTIGATION?
Minister Tekin clarified the investigation initiated against 29 individuals related to the issue, stating, "Once the incident was reported to Diyarbakır by our relevant general directorate, the governor's office took action. We said that an investigation was opened against 29 individuals, but we did not say that these 29 individuals were teachers. This is a chain... There are individuals in different public positions within this chain. There are police officers, non-teaching staff, teachers, and school administrators. Now, all of my colleagues have been suspended by the governor's office for the integrity of the investigation... The ministry will evaluate the administrative investigation, and the judicial authorities will decide whether there is any criminal element regarding the judicial investigation," he said.
REMOVAL OF THE INFORMATION PROCESSING DIRECTOR
Minister Tekin also addressed the increasing public speculation regarding the removal of Information Processing General Director Özgür Türk, stating it was "related to the allegations of irregularities in the LGS." In his statement, Minister Tekin said: "Those who closely follow the Ministry with good intentions should understand the reason for this. First of all, we have two general directorates related to Information Processing in the Ministry of National Education. The general director of measurement, evaluation, and exam services conducts the exams. These two general directorates have no initiative or authority regarding the implementation of the exams."
