In the General Assembly of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, the budget discussions of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, the Ministry of Interior, and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry have begun. After the Deputy Speaker of the Grand National Assembly, Bekir Bozdağ, rejected the request for the floor from the group deputy chairpersons of the CHP and the DEM Party, stating that he would only grant speaking rights to the group deputy chairpersons at the end of the day, CHP Group Deputy Chairperson Ali Mahir Başarır requested a procedural debate. "THERE ARE TWO MINISTERS WHO WILL BE DISCUSSED A LOT"Başarır, speaking on behalf of the CHP, said: "After the recent changes to the internal regulations, the speaking times have already been shortened. According to Article 60 of the internal regulations, the group deputy chairpersons are initially granted the right to speak. Mr. President, on the second day of the budget discussions, you said, 'I had granted this right.' Now you are saying, 'I am taking it back.' The Turkish Grand National Assembly cannot be managed this way. Why are you taking this right today? Because you are deciding based on the ministers. If the ministers who will be debated are here, you say 'let's silence them,' and if there are ministers who will not be a topic of discussion, you say 'let them speak.' There are two ministers here who will be discussed a lot today. One is the Minister of Labor, who constantly sends enforcement orders to municipalities due to their debts, and the other is the Minister of Interior, who appoints trustees. The sensitivity comes from here. If you say, 'I am using this arbitrarily' according to the internal regulations, voting is also a right in the internal regulations, and we would like to exercise our right to roll call. Is there anything that says you cannot have a roll call in the budget? But we will have it from now on." BOZDAĞ: THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR THE HEALTHY CONDUCT OF THE WORKFollowing the reactions, Deputy Speaker of the Assembly Bekir Bozdağ said, "The budget discussions are indeed a tiring work. It starts at 11 in the morning, and the last Assembly worked until 3:30 at night. It is very important for this work to be conducted healthily." Once again taking the floor, CHP's Başarır stated, "I want to work until five, Mr. President. If you are looking for time savings in the promise you made to the opposition's group deputy chairpersons, shame on you. I am used to not sleeping, but you are very accustomed to sleeping," he expressed.
