The Ministry of National Defense announced that Infantry Contracted Private Maşallah Abakay was martyred during an infiltration attempt by the separatist terrorist organization in the Pençe-Kilit Operation area on September 22, 2024. Minister Yaşar Güler issued a condolence message for the martyr, expressing his condolences to the family and the Turkish nation.

In a written statement from the Ministry of National Defense, it was stated, "On September 22, 2024, during an infiltration attempt by members of the separatist terrorist organization in the Pençe Kilit Operation Zone, our heroic comrade Infantry Contracted Private Maşallah Abakay was martyred. We wish God's mercy upon our dear martyr who lost his life in this incident that has plunged us into deep sorrow and grief, and we extend our condolences and patience to his grieving family, the Turkish Armed Forces, and our noble nation."
