The Dodurga neighborhood of Acıpayam district in Denizli is taking significant steps in agricultural development. The neighborhood head, Ali Ercan Dağdaş, stated that farmers are satisfied with the greenhouse farming initiated in the neighborhood, emphasizing that the greenhouse activities, which are heavily focused on tomato production, are a lifeline for the regional economy. With the efforts sustained for 2 years, the products of Dodurga neighborhood, which produces tomatoes on an area of 20 decares, are sent to the markets in Denizli, Gölhisar, and Antalya.
"OUR GOAL IS TO REACH 25 TONS"
Muhtar Dağdaş explained that if done consciously, greenhouse farming allows farmers to earn money, stating, "We have been practicing greenhouse farming for two years. This year, we achieved an average yield of 17 tons of tomatoes per decare. Our goal is to increase this yield to 25 tons. At the same time, we want to expand our greenhouse area to 50 decares and turn Dodurga into a brand in greenhouse farming," he said.
"WE ARE GETTING 20 TONS OF PRODUCT PER DECARE"
Emphasizing that greenhouse farming provides advantages in terms of both product quality and economic gain, Dağdaş stated, "We are getting between 15-20 tons of product per decare. This high tonnage provides significant profit. Dodurga tomatoes have now become known by name in the market. We want to inform our people and promote greenhouse farming. If larger greenhouse areas are established in our neighborhood, clustering will also be achieved. This will make it easier for traders to find a market for us," he said.
