The mulberry saplings planted by the municipality to green the environment in the Çemişgezek district of Tunceli were stolen. Citizens who noticed that the mulberry saplings, which were planted some time ago in the Ağ Tepe area of the district, had been uprooted reported the situation to the Çemişgezek Municipality teams. Teams that went to the area for inspections determined that approximately 30 root mulberry saplings had been uprooted and stolen with shovels and picks. Gendarmerie teams have initiated work to capture the person or persons involved in the incident. "IF YOU HAD ASKED LIKE A HUMAN"Çemişgezek Mayor İbrahim Enes Somyürek also stated in a statement on his social media account that those who stole the saplings were thieves of labor and sweat. Emphasizing that the planted saplings belong to everyone, Somyürek said, "We said let’s not cause harm, let’s warn those who do. We said let’s take care of them. You didn’t need to go through all this trouble to dig the holes and uproot them one by one. I wish you had asked like a human, what a shame," he expressed.
