Beerschot's head coach Dirk Kuyt reacted to the Antwerp fans behind the goal launching fireworks towards the stands where the players' families were sitting after the match. According to a report in the Belgian press outlet Het Nieuwsblad, Kuyt stated, "They are just cowards. It is absolutely unacceptable to launch fireworks at the area where our families are sitting."

PLAYERS WERE EXPOSED TO FOREIGN OBJECTS

The left winger Thibaud Verlinden, who scored the home team's goal, was also exposed to foreign objects while taking a corner kick in front of the away fans. The Dutch coach condemned this situation by saying, "Those who throw those fireworks onto the field and at our players are so cowardly.
