The 32-year-old French footballer stated in an interview with BBC Sport that his interest in camel racing is not new, saying, "I watched many races on YouTube, and in my free time, I researched to understand the techniques and strategies. I was impressed by the dedication everyone shows in this sport. After all, sport is sport; it requires heart, sacrifice, and teamwork."

Highlighting that camel racing, a traditional sport, is quite popular in the Middle East, Pogba said, "Even if people don't realize it, every type of sport is connected in some way. Football, camel racing, boxing… At their core, they require determination, focus, discipline, and perseverance. These are what create champions."

Continuing his remarks, Pogba stated, "Being the world's most expensive footballer was a great honor, but it also brought pressure and responsibility.
