An investigation has been launched against Ümit Özdağ, the leader of the Victory Party, for the crime of "insulting the President."
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation against Ümit Özdağ, the Chairman of the Victory Party, due to his remarks about President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during his party's Provincial Chairmen Consultation Meeting on January 19.
A STATEMENT WAS MADE
In a statement made by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the matter, it was stated, "An investigation has been initiated against Ümit Özdağ, the Chairman of the Victory Party, for the crime of insulting the President due to the words he uttered about our esteemed President during his party's provincial chairmen consultation meeting on 19/01/2025. This is presented to the public's information."
WHAT DID ÖZDAĞ SAY?
In his speech at the Provincial Chairmen Consultation Meeting of his party in Antalya, Ümit Özdağ stated, "No Crusade has caused as much harm to the Turkish nation and the Turkish state as Erdoğan and the AKP have."
