Iran, Azerbaijan Hold Talks On Security, Military Cooperation

Defense ministers of Iran, Azerbaijan meet in Tehran.

Iranian Defense Minister Mohammad Reza Ashtiani held talks on Wednesday with his Azerbaijani counterpart Zakir Hasanov in the capital Tehran.

The talks dwelt on security and military relations as well as regional issues, the Iranian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

According to the statement, Hasanov thanked Iran for its support for Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and underlined the importance of strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.

Ashtiani, for his part, stressed the importance of boosting cooperation between Iran and Azerbaijan in defense and security fields.
