Iran, which continues its retaliations against the attacks of the US and Israel, targeted the skyscraper housing the branch of Citibank, one of the largest banks in the US, located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, with a drone. Following the explosion, a fire broke out in the building, and the attack is believed to have been carried out in response to the previous attack on Sepah Bank in Tehran.

As the war in the Middle East continues on its 15th day, Iran struck the branch of Citibank, one of the largest banks in the United States, located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

CONSUMED BY FLAMES

Images from the region showed an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) hitting the skyscraper that houses the bank's branch. Following this, a loud explosion was heard, and a fire broke out in the building.

SEPAH BANK TARGETED IN TEHRAN

On March 11, the U.S. launched a missile attack on the digital security center of Sepah Bank, which is based in Iran, during attacks on the Iranian capital, Tehran. After the attack, systems at Sepah Bank and Melli Bank crashed, and online banking services were disabled.

In a statement following the attack, the Iranian army said, "The enemy has attacked our financial sovereignty. From this moment on, all economic centers and banks in the region that are U.S. and allied are legitimate targets."

Citibank announced that it had decided to temporarily close all its branches except for one branch due to security reasons following threats that Iran could target financial institutions in the region.
