Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that the trust crisis in negotiations with the US continues, and the process has stalled due to contradictory messages. "We do not trust the Americans," Araghchi said, warning the United Arab Emirates, which is moving closer to Israel, by stating, "Everything has its limits."
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi made significant statements to the Indian press on the second day of the BRICS Foreign Ministers' Meeting held in New Delhi, the capital of India.
"THE US AND ISRAEL TESTED IRAN TWICE"
Araghchi stated that the US and Israel "tested" Iran at least twice, saying, "There is no military solution, and the US must understand this reality. They cannot achieve their goals through military actions, but if diplomacy is pursued, the outcome will be different." Araghchi also emphasized that the most fundamental issue in the negotiation process is the contradictory statements of US officials.
Araghchi noted that Iran is the attacked party and stated that they are acting within the framework of the right to self-defense.
"STRAIT OF HORMUZ IS OPEN TO FRIENDLY COUNTRIES"
Commenting on the Strait of Hormuz, Araghchi said that crossings continue with certain rules:
"The Strait of Hormuz is not closed to friendly countries. Restrictions are for enemy ships. In previous days, many ships passed through the Strait of Hormuz with the help of our naval forces, and this process will continue. The only solution is the complete end of the aggressive war."
"NEGOTIATIONS WILL HAPPEN IF THE OTHER SIDE IS SERIOUS"
The Iranian minister also stated that they do not trust the US and that this complicates the diplomatic process, using the following expressions:
"We do not trust the Americans, and this is the biggest obstacle to any diplomatic effort. We are maintaining the ceasefire despite its fragility to open space for diplomatic efforts. Negotiations will happen if the other side is serious. Our nuclear program is peaceful, and we are ready to confirm this. However, a permanent solution is not possible without an end to aggression."
"EVERYTHING HAS A LIMIT"
Araghchi also warned the United Arab Emirates, saying, "Israel and the UAE are side by side. Everything has a limit."
CLAIM: "THE US WILL ATTACK IRAN THIS WEEKEND"
The US press claimed that President Trump might launch a new attack on Iran after his visit to China. It was stated that if Trump pushes the button, the attacks would be coordinated with the Israeli military.
An Israeli official suggested that Trump could make the attack decision over the weekend and that the Israeli military would be on high alert.
Israeli KAN television reported that Israeli military officials, who met with the US Central Command last week, requested the resumption of attacks on Iran. It was also claimed that Trump might prefer to restart the freedom project in Hormuz instead of attacks on Iran.
