Iran's Turkish-origin President Masoud Pezeshkian recited Turkish poetry at an event he attended in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. Pezeshkian read verses from the work "Greetings to Heydar Baba" by Turkish poet Muhammad Hussein Behcet Tebrizi, receiving a great round of applause.
The President of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, attended the Azerbaijan-Iran Trade Forum held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, for official visits.
RECITED TURKISH POETRY
During the forum, Pezeshkian spoke alongside the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, and at the end of the program, he recited verses from the famous Turkish poet Muhammad Hussein Behcet Tebrizi, known by the pen name Shahriyar, from his work titled "Greetings to Heydar Baba."
RECEIVED GREAT APPLAUSE
Pezeshkian recited the lines from the poem written in Azerbaijani Turkish: "If I could fly from this fluttering wind, I would unite with the flood that crosses the mountain, I would cry for the hand that is far away, Who caused the separation? Who was broken in our country, who remained?" Continuing to read poetry, Pezeshkian recited, "I have sent my breath to your only mountain, You too, let this voice go to the heavens, Let the owl not be narrow in its coffin, Here a lion cries out in distress, Calling for those without humanity." Pezeshkian's recitation of Turkish poetry was applauded by the participants in the hall.
