THE ATTACK CAUGHT UNPREPARED
The attacks by Israel and the United States occurred in the morning hours, while people were going to work and shopping in the markets. As explosion sounds were heard in the capital Tehran, traffic came to a standstill. Videos shared by Iranian media showed people rushing to hide in crowded streets.
LOSSES ARE INCREASING
As the hours passed, the toll of the attacks became clear. The attack targeting the Shajereh Tayebeh Girls' Primary School in the city of Minab, which resulted in the deaths of 155 girl students, caused a great shock in the country. The Iranian Red Crescent announced that a total of 201 people lost their lives and 747 were injured in the attacks across 24 provinces.
Iranians reacted strongly to the attacks and casualties, and protests against the US and Israel were held in various cities across the country.
