Fenerbahçe has taken action regarding its player Diego Carlos, who spent last season on loan at Como, not returning to the team. The yellow-navy team's head coach İsmail Kartal said they had a notary record drawn up for Diego Carlos, who did not attend the medical check.
Süper Lig giant Fenerbahçe's reinstated technical director İsmail Kartal made statements to the press. The yellow-navy coach spoke about Diego Carlos, who did not attend health checks.
''WE HAD A REPORT DRAWN UP''
İsmail Kartal stated that a report was drawn up for Diego Carlos, who displayed irresponsible behavior, saying, "Diego Carlos played for Como in Italy. He didn't have a bad season. He went on loan, didn't come back. We had a notarized report drawn up. We had a meeting with Cihan (Kamer) Bey and Oğuz (Çetin) Hoca. There seems to be a clause in contracts when loan players play in Europe, that it ends on June 30, but we had a report drawn up just in case."
FENERBAHÇE'S STATEMENT
Fenerbahçe had previously made a statement regarding the Brazilian center-back: "As part of the routine health checks planned for June 23, 2026, our player Diego Carlos could not attend the health check in accordance with the program communicated to him. Our efforts to contact our player and clarify his situation continue, and the process is being closely followed in the interests of our club under the coordination of our Football Director Oğuz Çetin."
SEASON PERFORMANCE
Diego Carlos, 33, who played on loan for Como last season, appeared in 31 matches and contributed 1 goal and 1 assist.
