As the echoes of Israel's assassination of Hamas leader Haniyeh continue, news of another attack has emerged. The Israeli army targeted Lebanon and struck a moving vehicle. Samir al-Haj, a Hamas Movement official who was in the vehicle, lost his life at the scene.
The attack by Israeli aircraft on a vehicle in the southern city of Sidon in Lebanon resulted in the death of Hamas official Samir al-Hajj and the injury of two civilians, according to reports.
2 MISSILES HIT THE VEHICLE
According to the official Lebanese news agency NNA, the Israeli army targeted a vehicle in the Hasbaya intersection near the Ayn al-Hilweh refugee camp in Sidon. The vehicle was hit by 2 missiles.
Hamas Movement official Samir al-Hajj, who was in the vehicle, was killed at the scene. Two civilians named Nesim Nasr and Iman Avda, who were waiting in line at a gas station during the attack, were also injured.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guards announced on July 31 that Haniyeh was killed in an attack on the residence where he was staying in Tehran. Iran and Hamas hold Israel responsible for the assassination, while the Tel Aviv government has not yet made a statement regarding the incident. Haniyeh, who was 62 years old at the time of his death, had gone to Tehran to attend the inauguration ceremony of the new Iranian President, Ebrahim Raisi. Hamas announced Yahya Sinwar as Haniyeh's successor.
