Israel has committed another war crime in Lebanon. The Israeli army dropped banned phosphorus bombs on the city of Khiam in southern Lebanon.

The Israeli army used white phosphorus bombs in its attacks on the border town of Khiam in southern Lebanon, the use of which is restricted by international treaties.

THEY STRUCK WITH THEIR PHOSPHORUS BOMB

Local sources reported that the phosphorus smoke falling over the city spread over a wide area. As a result of the attack, fires broke out in the region, causing great panic among the people.

According to international law, the use of white phosphorus in civilian areas is considered a war crime because it leads to severe burns and permanent environmental damage. Human rights organizations are urgently calling on the world, providing evidence that Israel systematically used this weapon in southern Lebanon, clearly endangering civilian lives.

HUMAN RIGHTS WATCH HAD ALSO ANNOUNCED

Human Rights Watch (HRW) stated on March 9 that the Israeli army had attacked residential areas in Lebanon with phosphorus bombs.

In a written statement from HRW, it was noted that "the Israeli army carried out an illegal attack using white phosphorus munitions with artillery fire on houses in the town of Yuhmur al-Shakif in southern Lebanon on March 3."

The statement recorded that the accuracy of 7 photos taken of the attack was confirmed and their geographical locations were identified, indicating that the photos showed a phosphorus bomb exploding over the residential area in the town while civil defense teams were trying to control the fire in two houses and a vehicle.

ISRAEL'S ATTACKS ON LEBANON

In a statement from the Israeli army on March 2, it was mentioned that sirens were activated in the north of the country after detecting missile fire from Lebanon. The Israeli army, which later announced that it had launched airstrikes across Lebanon targeting the capital Beirut, decided to expand its ground invasion in Lebanon, conducting intense attacks from the air and sea.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced on March 14 that the number of people killed in the attacks carried out by Israel on Lebanon since March 2 had risen to 850, while the number of injured had reached 2,105.

The Disaster Management Authority, affiliated with the Lebanese government, reported that the official number of those forcibly displaced in Lebanon due to Israel's invasion and attacks had exceeded 830,000.
