ISTANBUL (IHA) - The Chairman of the Grand Bazaar Apartment Owners' Management Board, Ilhami Yazıcı, emphasized the importance of the QR code on gold grams in the market and warned citizens about purchasing counterfeit gold, stating, "When shopping, always ask 'Is there a QR code on this gold, is it printed on the gold?'"

The geopolitical tension between Iran, Israel, and the USA has led to sharp fluctuations in global markets, while a notable increase in gold prices has been observed.

"THINK LONG TERM"

Ilhami Yazıcı, Chairman of the Board of the Kapalıçarşı Apartment Owners, stated that the demand for gold has accelerated due to geopolitical risks and rising oil prices, saying, "As you know, due to the Iran, Israel, America war, gold, which the public sees as a safe haven, suddenly increased by 20% to 25% in dollar terms." Yazıcı noted that gold prices may fluctuate in the short term, and advised, "Do not trade in gold in the short term, think long term."

Call to Citizens from Kapalıçarşı

"DO NOT BUY GOLD WITHOUT A QR CODE"

Ilhami Yazıcı, Chairman of the Board of the Kapalıçarşı Apartment Owners, made statements about the importance of the QR code on gold bars and the purchase of counterfeit gold, saying, "We print QR codes on all gold from 5 grams to 100 grams; only 1-gram bars do not have it. When you scan this code, everything from the production to the sale of the gold is revealed. The QR code's verification is also automatically visible in the system. There are many places producing gold under the table, and we cannot explain this. Therefore, our citizens need to pay attention to where they buy gold. When shopping, always ask, 'Does this gold have a QR code, is it printed on the gold?'"

"WE TELL EVERYONE WHO TAKES A LOAN TO BUY GOLD 'DO NOT DO IT'"

Yazıcı reminded that the volatility of gold prices should not cause concern, stating, "No one should worry about the falling prices right now; we always consider gold as the safest haven in the world. We tell citizens, 'Do not make any transactions with gold in the short term, use it as a savings tool in the long term.' Citizens are looking to see if gold they buy today for 1000 lira will be 1050 lira tomorrow, which is a wrong policy, and we do not recommend this. We also tell everyone who takes a loan to buy gold, 'Do not do it.' As you know, there is no longer the purchase of wedding gifts like before, but we believe that gold will become active again with the summer season," he said.
