In Silivri, gendarmerie teams seized 306 kilograms of horse meat ready for sale during an operation conducted based on a tip-off. Three suspects were detained in connection with the incident. It was stated that the market value of the seized meat is 150,000 lira.
Upon receiving a tip-off about a large quantity of horse meat being prepared for sale in the Silivri district of Istanbul, teams sprang into action and seized hundreds of kilos of meat during a raid, while three suspects related to the incident were taken into custody.
OPERATION CONDUCTED ON TIP-OFF
Under the coordination of the Silivri Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, gendarmerie teams launched an operation at a designated address in Beyciler Neighborhood. During the searches, horse meat ready for sale was identified.
306 KILOS OF HORSE MEAT
During the operation, 306 kilos of horse meat with an estimated market value of approximately 150,000 TL were seized, and it was determined that the products were being prepared for market release.
3 SUSPECTS IN CUSTODY
Durmuş S., Nedim B., and İbrahim A., identified as being connected to the incident, were taken into custody. An investigation was launched against the suspects on charges of "threatening public health."
It was learned that the procedures for the suspects in custody at the gendarmerie are ongoing, and they are expected to be brought to court tomorrow.
