In the full-scale air operation launched by the US and Israel against Iran, it is claimed that some commanders and political officials from the Revolutionary Guards have been killed, while Israeli media reported that Tel Aviv has an assassination list.
The Israeli Ministry of Defense announced that they have launched a preemptive strike against Iran to eliminate threats to the country. Subsequently, Trump stated in a press release that they have initiated a major operation against Iran and are aiming for regime change. The US and Israel targeted high-ranking Iranian officials in these attacks.
According to US-based CNN International, the attacks focused on Iranian religious leader Khamenei, Chief of Staff Mousavi, President Pezeshkian, Secretary of the Supreme Defense Council Shamkhani, and Secretary of the National Security Council Larijani, claiming that the attacks were carried out with this focus.
INTELLIGENCE MINISTRY AND KHAMENEI'S OFFICE WERE HIT
According to reports from the Israeli public broadcaster, among the targets in the Iranian capital were sovereign symbol institutions such as the Intelligence Ministry and the office of Iranian leader Ali Khamenei.
While the attacks also included government buildings, there were reports of assassination attempts against high-ranking Iranian officials.
Among the targeted areas were the 'Pastur' region, which houses the presidential office and the Iranian National Security Council, as well as the leadership residence and the vicinity of the Experts Assembly.
An Israeli official stated that there were signs that prominent figures in the Iranian administration may have been injured.
PEZESHKIAN WAS ALSO A TARGET OF THE ATTACKS
Israeli sources did not rule out that Khamenei could have been targeted, asserting that all leaders of the Iranian regime (including Khamenei and President Masoud Pezeshkian) were targets of the attacks.
In response, an Iranian official told Reuters, "Khamenei was not in Tehran; he was moved to a safe location." Iranian sources reported that Pezeshkian was also safe.
However, an Iranian source reported that some commanders from the Revolutionary Guards and political officials were killed in the US-Israeli attacks.
PEZESHKIAN ESCAPED ASSASSINATION UNHARMED
The son of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian announced that his father was targeted in the US-Israeli attacks but escaped the assassination attempt unharmed.
According to reports in the country's media, President Pezeshkian's son, Yusuf Pezeshkian, stated that his father's health condition is good.
Yusuf, confirming that Pezeshkian was targeted by the US-Israeli attacks, said, "The assassination attempts failed, and other officials are also healthy. We will likely experience a longer conflict, and this will be a war of attrition. Therefore, determination and patience are essential to get through these days."
PREVIOUSLY PLANNED
An Israeli defense official stated that the operation was planned months in advance and its date was set weeks ago.
The same official, speaking to Reuters, expressed that the operation was conducted in coordination with the US.
Israeli sources claimed that the first phase of the attacks would last four days and that this was a continuation of the 12-day war conducted last summer (July 2025).
An Iranian official stated that the country was preparing to respond and that the response would be 'strong and overwhelming.'
These developments came after US President Donald Trump announced last night (Friday) that he was not satisfied with Iran's stance in nuclear negotiations. Trump emphasized that they would not accept any form of enrichment on Iranian soil.
Additionally, while the world's largest US aircraft carrier, the Gerald Ford, reached Israel yesterday, the Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier is also stationed in the Oman Sea.
