According to the 2024 report, Istanbul Airport continued to be the busiest airport in Europe last year, with an average of 1,401 flights per day. This airport has maintained this title for the third consecutive year and holds a significant position with Turkish Airlines as well.

The European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL) has released its 2024 "Overview of European Aviation" report. According to the report, Istanbul Airport, which increased its flight numbers by 2% compared to the previous year, operated an average of 1401 flights per day during the specified period. Thus, Istanbul Airport finished at the top for the third consecutive year.
Following Istanbul Airport in the list of airports with the most flights were Amsterdam Schiphol with an average of 1336 flights per day and London Heathrow with 1302 flights.
THY OPERATED 1435 FLIGHTS PER DAY
The report also included the flight figures of airline companies. Accordingly, Turkey's flag carrier Turkish Airlines ranked third in Europe by operating an average of 1435 flights per day in 2024. According to the report, with an average of 3140 flights operated daily from its airports, Turkey ranked sixth among the top 10 countries with the most flights in Europe.
