In simultaneous operations targeting four separate organized crime groups across 12 provinces centered in Istanbul, 74 suspects were detained. It was reported that the suspects were involved in intentional killing, attempted murder, drug trafficking, and crimes of damaging weapons and property, while it was learned that some organization leaders are abroad and have red notices issued against them.
A large-scale operation was conducted in 12 provinces centered in Istanbul targeting organized crime organizations. In the operation carried out within the scope of investigations led by the Istanbul and Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices, 74 suspects believed to be members of 4 separate armed criminal organizations were apprehended and taken into custody.
SIMULTANEOUS OPERATION IN 12 PROVINCES
Teams from the Istanbul Provincial Police Department's Organized Crime Branch Directorate, in coordination with the Intelligence Branch Directorate, launched an operation against street gangs as part of their ongoing work.
The operations were carried out simultaneously in Istanbul, as well as Konya, Sakarya, Adana, Ağrı, Bingöl, Şanlıurfa, Tekirdağ, Muğla, İzmir, Afyonkarahisar, and Elazığ.
LEADERS ABROAD ALSO UNDER INVESTIGATION
It was learned that the leaders of the organized crime organizations targeted in the investigation are located abroad, and red notice arrest warrants have been issued for some of them.
It was stated that the operations were carried out against organized armed criminal groups operating both domestically and internationally.
WANTED ON MULTIPLE CHARGES
The suspects were found to have been involved in various incidents, primarily including "Intentional killing", "Attempted intentional killing", "Knowingly endangering public safety", "Damaging property", "Violation of Law No. 6136", and "Manufacturing and trafficking of narcotic or stimulant substances".
74 SUSPECTS IN CUSTODY
The 74 suspects taken into custody during the simultaneous operations were taken to the Istanbul Police Department's Organized Crime Branch Directorate for processing.
It was reported that the investigation launched against organized crime organizations is continuing in multiple directions.
