After the snowfall in Istanbul, the city has been gripped by freezing cold temperatures. Due to the strong frost and the freeze experienced at night, vehicles and sidewalks have become covered in ice. Citizens have struggled to walk on the sidewalks, which have turned into ice rinks. Additionally, vehicle owners trying to clean the frozen windows have put in a lot of effort to scrape off the ice.

Yesterday morning, snowfall that started in Istanbul continued throughout the day. Following a statement made by Istanbul Governor Davut Gül, education was suspended for one day across the city.

Due to the cold weather, citizens who wanted to go to work in the morning cleaned the snow accumulated on their vehicles. While the windows of the vehicles were covered with ice, some citizens who wanted to go to work cleaned their cars. It was observed that vehicle owners trying to clean the frozen windows struggled for a long time to scrape off the ice.

The snowfall, which was particularly effective in the high areas of Istanbul, caused icing in the morning hours. Vehicles experienced great difficulty while descending the hills.

Meanwhile, the dense fog that was effective in Istanbul during the night caused a decrease in visibility. In a statement made on the website of the General Directorate of Coastal Safety of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, it was announced that ship traffic in the Bosphorus was suspended in both directions as of 03:10.
