It is claimed that hundreds of ISIS terrorists and their families held in the Al-Hol Camp in Hasakeh, Syria, have escaped. A Syrian official, speaking to the Arab media, confirmed the claim and stated that the YPG/SDG terrorist organization is responsible for the escapes.
Mass escapes from the Al Hol camp, where thousands of ISIS terrorists and their families are held in Hasakeh in northeastern Syria, have been confirmed by officials in Damascus.
"HUNDREDS OF ISIS FAMILIES HAVE FLED"
A Syrian official speaking to Al Arabiya, which broadcasts in Saudi Arabia, blamed the YPG/SDF terrorist organization for the escapes. The same official confirmed that "hundreds of families" fled during the 10-hour period after the YPG withdrew from Al Hol. It is unknown how many ISIS militants have escaped from the prisons under YPG control.

The SDF announced that clashes occurred with the Syrian army around the Al Hol Camp under their control on the morning of January 20. In the hours following this announcement, the SDF declared that they had withdrawn from the camp.
THE U.S. IS TRANSFERRING ISIS MEMBERS TO IRAQ
Since January 21, the U.S. has begun to announce that thousands of "dangerous" members of the ISIS terrorist organization have been taken from Hasakeh to Iraq. The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on February 13, 2026, that it had completed the transfer of more than 5,700 male ISIS terrorists to Iraqi authorities.
AL HOL WAS THE LARGEST CAMP HOLDING ISIS MEMBERS IN SYRIA
Al Hol, located in the desert area of Hasakeh, was the largest camp in Syrian territory housing ISIS terrorists and their families. The facility hosted 24,000 people from 40 different nationalities, mostly Syrians. It was believed that more than 6,000 of them were foreigners.
Syrian officials announced that these camps are starting to be completely closed due to "inhumane conditions." On February 17, hundreds of people were taken to the Akburhan container city in the rural area of Aleppo, one of the newly designated accommodation sites. It is reported that this container city, built by Turkish companies, can accommodate about 6,000 people.
THE U.S. MILITARY IS STRIKING ISIS TARGETS IN SYRIA
The U.S. military announced that it attacked more than 30 ISIS targets in Syria during the month of February.
In a statement from the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), it was noted that American forces conducted 10 attacks against more than 30 ISIS targets in Syria "to maintain relentless military pressure on the remnants of the terrorist network."
The statement indicated that airstrikes carried out between February 3 and February 12 targeted ISIS's "infrastructure and weapon storage sites."
