Germany has urged its citizens to keep enough food and emergency supplies at home to last at least 3 days in response to increasing cyber threats and the risk of power outages. "WE EXPERIENCE A SIGNIFICANT NUMBER OF HYBRID ATTACKS EVERY DAY"The statement came from Rene Funk, Deputy Head of the Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance. Funk noted that such preparations have become necessary due to the rise in international tensions and cyber threats, saying, "I call on citizens. Be prepared for emergencies, including long-term power outages. We experience a significant number of hybrid attacks every day." He emphasized that households should store at least 1.5 liters of water per person per day and provided detailed recommendations for emergency preparedness, also highlighting the importance of storing canned food. REPORTS OF CYBER ATTACKS ON THE COUNTRY INCREASED IN THE MEDIAIt was stated that the Federal Office of Civil Defense and Disaster Assistance plays a central role in responding to potential crises and disasters in the country, responsible for conducting risk analyses and warning the public about necessary preparations. The office's latest recommendations came after media reports regarding increasing cyber attacks directed at them from countries such as Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea. These attacks are reported to target companies and public officials managing critical infrastructures such as electricity grids, the internet, food supply, transportation networks, and public safety systems. Reports in the German media claimed that Russian state actors were suspected in numerous sabotage incidents targeting railway lines, electricity poles, and underwater cables across Europe. Moscow rejected these allegations as unfounded accusations aimed at discrediting Russia.
