The heavy downpour in Istanbul also affected public transportation. Water flowing from the ceilings of two separate buses caused difficult moments for passengers. A female passenger opening an umbrella inside the bus to avoid getting wet became one of the most talked-about images on social media.
Heavy rainfall throughout the day in Istanbul caused disruptions not only in traffic but also in public transportation. Due to the rain, water leaked into some IETT buses from the roofs, resulting in interesting visuals.
Passengers were greatly surprised when water began to drip from various points of the ceiling in a bus traveling on the 98AB Halkalı–Bakırköy line. A female passenger, who opened an umbrella to avoid getting wet while seated, completed the rest of the journey this way. Those moments were recorded by other passengers using their mobile phone cameras.
A similar situation occurred in Arnavutköy as well. Water was seen pouring from the roof of a bus traveling on the 36AY Arnavutköy–Yenibosna line, almost like rain. Passengers experienced difficult moments due to the water leakage, and the footage quickly became a trending topic on social media.
