Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi responded to Marco Rubio's statement that "Iran is an urgent and imminent threat to both the US and Israel" by saying, "Rubio has admitted what we all know: the US has willingly entered into a war on behalf of Israel. There has never been a so-called 'threat' from Iran."
As conflicts escalate in the Middle East, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi responded sharply on social media to U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio's statement that "Iran is an urgent and imminent threat to both the U.S. and Israel." Araghchi accused the Washington administration of entering the war on behalf of Israel.
U.S. EMPHASIZES "IMMINENT THREAT"
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, in a statement to reporters after a meeting he attended in Congress, argued that Iran poses an "urgent and imminent threat" to both the U.S. and Israel. Rubio stated, "This was an imminent threat for us. We knew that if Iran were attacked, it would immediately come after us."
Rubio's statements revealed that the U.S. is evaluating its military steps against Iran within the framework of "preventive security."
IRAN'S "U.S. CONFESSED" OUTBURST
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi directly responded to Rubio's remarks in a post on his account on the U.S.-based X platform. Araghchi said, "Rubio confessed what we all know: The U.S. willingly entered a war on behalf of Israel. There has never been a so-called 'threat' from Iran."
Araghchi stated that he holds those who advocate the "Israel first" approach responsible for the bloodshed of both Americans and Iranians, adding, "The American people deserve better and should take back their country."
TENSION MOVED TO THE DIPLOMATIC FRONT
As mutual attacks continue on the ground, the rhetoric from both sides is also hardening. The Washington administration portrays Iran as the source of regional instability, while Tehran argues that the U.S. is directly involved in the conflict for Israel's security.
Mutual statements indicate that the military tension is progressing with a harsher rhetoric on the diplomatic front as well. Depending on the course of developments in the region, a further escalation of the rhetoric war between the two countries is expected.
