The Mazon Region Forest Villages Agricultural Development and Pine Nut Sales Cooperative, established in the Mersinbelen neighborhood of the Koçarlı district of Aydın with millions of lira spent, has been left idle as it could not be operated.
The Mazon Region Forest Villages Agricultural Development and Pine Nut Sales Cooperative, established in 1971 by the villagers in the Mersinbelen neighborhood of Koçarlı, which became a factory in 1984 but could not start production for years due to the purchase of incorrect machinery, was left to its own devices.
LEFT IDLE AFTER 42 YEARS OF ADVENTURE
The cooperative, which began its adventure 42 years ago and gave hope to the local people, was left idle after millions of lira were spent. The machines within the cooperative, which could not be operated for various reasons for a long time, have almost turned into scrap.
MILLIONS OF LIRA LEFT TO ROT
The cooperative, established with millions spent to process pine nuts, which are an important source of livelihood for the local people and to increase their value, has also been left to rot. The local people claimed that the cooperative was mismanaged, stating that it had virtually turned into a family business, which was the hope of the regional producers.
