"A 7.2 MAGNITUDE EARTHQUAKE COULD OCCUR IN BINGÖL"

Pointing out the dangerous areas in Turkey, Japanese Earthquake Expert Yoshinori Moriwaki said, "Bingöl is located at the intersection of the North Anatolian Fault and the East Anatolian Fault. I can say that Bingöl is the most dangerous area. In the last 3 years, there have been earthquakes of 4-5 magnitudes. Earthquakes in Turkey are like dominoes, but sometimes if they go backward, the earthquakes in Bingöl, Karlıova, Muş, and Bitlis will be dangerous. A 7.2 magnitude earthquake could occur in Bingöl. There was an earthquake in Erzincan in 1939, in Tokat in 1941, and they came in succession from east to west. The Gölcük earthquake occurred in '99. There was an earthquake in Çanakkale in 1912. There is roughly 110 km in between. There are 8 fault lines there. There could be several earthquakes together or individually. In fact, there could be 8 earthquakes occurring simultaneously." he stated.
