The Ministry of Trade, in a joint operation with the National Police of Spain, arrested three members of criminal organizations involved in the trafficking of 1.7 tons of cocaine soaked in fossil flour. Additionally, 105 kilograms of marijuana hidden in a truck in Edirne were seized.
The Ministry of Trade announced that 3 suspects, members of a criminal organization engaged in the trade of cocaine soaked in 1.7 tons of fossil flour, were captured in an operation jointly carried out by the General Directorate of Customs Enforcement and the National Police of Spain.
According to the statement made by the Ministry, a container loaded with items classified as 'fossil flour', which was sent from South America to Spain and arrived at the Istanbul Ambarlı Port in transit, was assessed as risky by the units of the General Directorate of Customs Enforcement and was put under surveillance. As a result of the inspections on the container, cocaine was detected in a state soaked in 1.7 tons of fossil flour. An investigation was initiated by the Büyükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. A controlled delivery application decision was made to uncover all aspects of the drug trafficking attempt. The container reached the Port of Barcelona under the joint surveillance of the General Directorate of Customs Enforcement and the National Police of Spain. As a result of the operation carried out by the Spanish Police in Madrid, in which officials from the General Directorate of Customs Enforcement also participated, 3 members of the organized crime group were captured.
105 KILOS OF HASHISH SEIZED IN THE TRUCK
On the other hand, as a result of intelligence work obtained by the Hamzabeyli Customs Enforcement Smuggling and Intelligence Directorate and the Edirne Gendarmerie Command teams, a truck arriving at the Hamzabeyli Customs Gate was assessed as suspicious by the teams. When suspicious density was detected in the vehicle sent to the X-Ray scanning system, a detailed search was conducted in the vehicle with the trained narcotic dog Atlas. 105 kilograms of hashish, worth 65 million TL, hidden within the legal cargo was seized. An investigation was initiated by the Edirne Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
