The leader of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), Devlet Bahçeli, made a notable call regarding military hospitals during his party's group meeting. Stating that the closure of military hospitals is a significant mistake, Bahçeli said, "The reopening of these hospitals would be a virtuous act. We expect them to be reinstated, and I want to express that we will do our utmost in this matter."

After the coup attempt on July 15, 2016, 32 military hospitals located in 26 provinces across Turkey were closed and transferred to the Ministry of Health.

Most recently, Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler stated in response to a question regarding the issue in 2023, "Believe me, we are making efforts every day for the reopening of military hospitals, but this is a process, meaning that it is certain that they will eventually be opened. We firmly believe that - I will also present what is being done now - all of these will be done in order." However, no steps have been taken regarding the issue since that date.

BAHÇELİ: CLOSING MILITARY HOSPITALS WAS A MISTAKE

A striking call came today from MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, who attended his party's group meeting. Stating that closing military hospitals was a mistake, Bahçeli said, "Reopening them would be a virtue. I expect them to be reactivated, and I want to express that we will show our utmost effort in this matter."

STRIKING CALL FROM MHP DEPUTY

In recent months, MHP Kahramanmaraş Deputy Zuhal Karakoç Dora, who spoke in the General Assembly regarding the issue, stated, "The maximum needs of our soldiers, who have sustained serious injuries in operations, can only be met by military hospitals, where interventions must be made by competent and experienced Turkish doctors in accordance with the requirements of military medicine."

"WE ARE THE ONLY COUNTRY IN NATO WITHOUT A MILITARY HOSPITAL"

The MHP deputy expressed his call to the government by saying, "We are the only country in NATO with the highest military power and without a military hospital. Reopening the military hospitals inherited from the Ottoman Empire is our debt to our soldiers who do not abandon their homeland, which they know and love."
