One of the world's most wanted drug traffickers, Nemesio Oseguera, known as "El Mencho," the leader of CJNG, was killed in a military operation in Mexico. Following the operation, clashes occurred nationwide between cartel members and security forces, while journalist Cüneyt Özdemir, who was in Mexico for vacation, announced that he was stranded in the country.

A major blow was dealt to one of Mexico's largest criminal organizations, the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG). The CJNG leader, Nemesio Oseguera, known as "El Mencho," was killed in a military operation. Mexican media reported that El Mencho was neutralized during an operation in the city of Tapalpa, located in Jalisco state.

VEHICLES SET ON FIRE IN MANY CITIES

After the operation, cartel members set numerous vehicles on fire in Jalisco and other states, clashing with security forces. Gunfire was also reported at Guadalajara International Airport. Local sources indicated that CJNG members raided the airport and engaged in a confrontation with security forces. Videos shared on social media showed many people fleeing in panic from the airport.

On the other hand, journalist Cüneyt Özdemir, who went to Mexico for vacation, announced that he was trapped in the country due to ongoing clashes between security forces and cartel members. In a post on his social media account, Özdemir stated, "We came to Mexico for a 3-day vacation and got trapped between the cartel and the army's conflict. Barricades have been set up outside the hotel, vehicles have been burned, and the airport road is closed... We are in contact with our embassy in Mexico."

After making this post, Özdemir went live from the hotel he was staying at in Puerto Vallarta, explaining that he came to the country on vacation with his family, and while they were about to leave the hotel, they received news telling them "not to go outside." He mentioned that the events in Mexico affected 75% of the country, with raids occurring at airports and hotels, and noted that the cartel issued a statement saying, "We will kill anyone on the street after 2 PM." Özdemir stated that all flights have been canceled and that he is in contact with the Turkish Embassy in Mexico, adding, "Mexico is very tense, but we are safe here."
