Former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu commented on the CHP's decision to hold an extraordinary congress, saying, "I congratulate our Republican People's Party's esteemed Chairman and the Central Executive Board for their decision to hold an extraordinary congress. Together, hand in hand, shoulder to shoulder, we will overcome these dark and difficult days."
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel announced that they decided to hold an extraordinary congress on April 6, suggesting that there is a possibility of a trustee being appointed to his party.

Support for the extraordinary congress decision also came from CHP's 7th Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. In a post on his social media account regarding the issue, Kılıçdaroğlu stated, "I congratulate our Chairman and the Central Executive Board for their decision to hold an extraordinary congress."
