Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu visited the Marmara Closed Prison in Silivri. Kılıçdaroğlu met with several individuals, including Ekrem İmamoğlu and Ümit Özdağ, who are currently detained. After the visit, Kılıçdaroğlu answered questions from reporters.
Former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu visited the Marmara Closed Penitentiary Institution in Silivri on the first day of Ramadan Bayram. He met with Osman Kavala, Can Atalay, Rıza Akpolat, Mehmet Murat Çalık, and Ümit Özdağ, who are among those detained, including Ekrem İmamoğlu.
"WE MET WITH MY CHP FRIENDS"
After the visit, Kılıçdaroğlu made statements to the press, saying, "First of all, I wish a happy Ramadan Bayram to all my fellow citizens in Turkey. I hope they have a beautiful holiday with their peaceful families. On the first day of the Bayram, I met with my CHP friends and our mayors in Silivri. I spoke with Ekrem İmamoğlu, Osman Kavala, Can Atalay, Şükrü Genç, Rıza Akpolat, Mehmet Murat Çalık, and Ümit Özdağ. When I asked the General Chairman about his situation, he said that his letter is waiting at the prosecutor's office. This letter needs to be submitted to the court as soon as possible. He expressed his belief that if it is submitted, he could get out of the situation he is currently in today. I promised to voice that as well," he said.
"WE HAVE NO RIGHT TO FALL INTO DESPAIR"
Continuing his remarks, Kılıçdaroğlu stated, "I would like to call on all my fellow citizens from here," and continued: "We have no right to fall into despair. We are the ones who set out to build a better future. We must create these beautiful days not only for ourselves but also for our children, for our Turkey, and for our region," he expressed.
