The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation regarding the allegation that "votes were bought" during the Republican People's Party's congress held in 2023. It has been learned that Kılıçdaroğlu, who has been summoned as a witness in the investigation, will not go to give a statement.
It has been reported that an investigation has been launched by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the allegations of "vote buying on the day of the congress" at the 38th Ordinary Congress of the CHP held in Ankara on November 4-5, 2023.
2 NAMES SUMMONED FOR TESTIMONY
It has been learned that Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and Akif Hamzaçebi have been summoned to testify as witnesses due to their statements made in the press and on social media regarding the incident subject to the investigation.
KILIÇDAROĞLU WILL NOT GO TO GIVE TESTIMONY
It has been learned that Kılıçdaroğlu, who was summoned as a witness within the scope of the investigation, will not go to give testimony. Kılıçdaroğlu's lawyer, Celal Çelik, confirmed that his client would not go to give testimony.
"I HAVE NO ALLEGATION LIKE A SUSPICION"
Akif Hamzaçebi, who was summoned for testimony, also made the first statement regarding the issue. In a post on his X account, Hamzaçebi stated, "I have no allegations of suspicion or anything like that regarding our congress. I do not have such information. I did not imply anything. I am not a witness. This will be evident from my previous statement."
ERDOĞAN INDICATED, KILIÇDAROĞLU REQUESTED AN EXPLANATION
President Erdoğan, in a statement made on February 1, claimed that the last congress of the CHP was suspicious, stating, "They blamed all the consequences of the disaster in the May 14-28 elections on Mr. Kemal and sent him off with a suspicious congress." Kılıçdaroğlu also called for an explanation from the CHP on February 7, saying, "Silence comes from acknowledgment."
