A passenger plane belonging to American Airlines suddenly caught fire at Denver International Airport in the United States. While passengers were quickly evacuated, some waited for rescue on the wing of the aircraft.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the plane with 172 passengers and 6 crew members took off from Colorado Springs. The American Airlines plane landed at Denver International Airport. However, as it approached to let the passengers disembark, smoke rose from the engine compartment. American Airlines announced that the fire was caused by a malfunction in the plane's engine.
