North Korea stated that the U.S. goal of denuclearization is "impossible" and "unfeasible," emphasizing that it will "strictly adhere to the nuclear power development policy set by our leader and will deter threats and blackmail from the U.S. and its allies using all political and military means."

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Japan's Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya, and South Korea's Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul received a strong reaction from North Korea regarding their trilateral meeting held in Germany.

In a statement from the North Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was reminded that a joint statement mentioning "the complete denuclearization of Pyongyang" was published after the trilateral meeting, and it stated, "We are seriously concerned about the adventurous and foolish actions of the U.S., Japan, and South Korea that provoke the possibility of conflict on the Korean Peninsula and its surroundings. We warn that any possible provocation from hostile countries will be met with overwhelming and resolute retaliation."

"WE STRONGLY CONDEMN AND REJECT"

The statement claimed that the U.S. is pursuing an "impossible" and "unimplementable" goal of denuclearization, stating, "The U.S.'s unrealistic goal is nothing more than the pinnacle of absurdity that will astonish the people of the world." It was noted that the U.S. has still not awakened from its dream of denuclearization, and the statement included, "We strongly condemn and reject the U.S.'s stance."

OUR NUCLEAR WEAPONS WILL CONTINUE TO BE A MEANS OF SELF-DEFENSE

The statement alleged that the U.S. has ignored the origin and existence of the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula for 30 years, stating, "As long as the hostile threats from the U.S. and its allies exist, North Korea's nuclear weapons will continue to serve as a means of self-defense to protect peace and sovereignty."

The statement warned that U.S. pressures would lead to further enhancement of Pyongyang's strategic power, stating, "We will adhere strictly to the nuclear power development policy set by our leader and will deter threats and blackmail from the U.S. and its allies using all political and military means."

THE 3 COUNTRIES PUBLISHED A JOINT STATEMENT

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Japan's Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya, and South Korea's Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul held a trilateral meeting on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference in Germany. The joint statement published after the meeting emphasized that the parties reiterated their determination for the "complete denuclearization of North Korea." It was stated that the ministers expressed serious concerns regarding North Korea's nuclear weapons and missile program and military cooperation with Russia.
