The story of Berrin N., who lives in Muğla, could outshine movies. After her sister told her, "You are not your father's heir," Berrin N. found herself in court, only to discover that Mahir A., whom she had known as her father for years, was actually the murderer of her real father. Her mother, Fatma A., had had a forbidden affair with her biological father years ago.
When 50-year-old Berrin N. from the Ula district of Muğla learned that Mahir A., whom she had known as her father for years, was not actually her biological father, she initiated a legal battle. A DNA test revealed an unexpected truth. Mahir A., whom Berrin N. considered her father, was actually the person who killed her real father.
FORBIDDEN LOVE TURNED INTO FAMILY SCANDAL
A forbidden love that took place in the Akyaka neighborhood of Muğla is opening the door to a major family scandal. While Fatma A. was married to her husband Mahir A., she had an illicit relationship with Mustafa Uyanık, one of the wealthiest figures in Akyaka, who was the neighborhood headman. As a result of this relationship, Berrin N. was born, but Fatma A. registered her in the population records under her legally married husband Mahir A.
The events turned into a great tragedy when Mahir A. caught his wife Fatma A. and Mustafa Uyanık in a wooded area in 1982. Mahir A. shot and killed his wife and her lover. After spending some time in prison, he was released.
"YOU ARE NOT MY FATHER'S HEIR"
Berrin N. knew Mahir A. as her father for 48 years. However, a dispute with her sister a year ago led her to discover one of the most important truths of her life. During the argument, her sister told her, "Don't interfere with my father's share. You are not my father's heir!" Shocked by these words, Berrin N. consulted her lawyer to learn the truth.
DNA TEST REVEALED THE TRUTH
As the legal process began, Berrin N. first filed a paternity denial lawsuit. The DNA test confirmed that Mahir A. was not her biological father. Following this, the grave of Mustafa Uyanık was exhumed to determine her real father. In the examination conducted by the Forensic Medicine Institute, sufficient DNA samples could not be obtained, so Uyanık's grave was opened a second time, allowing for DNA samples to be taken from the mother as well.
According to the DNA test results announced on February 1, 2025, it was confirmed that Berrin N.'s biological father was Mustafa Uyanık.
