The 14-year-old son of famous Italian chef Andrea Minguzzi and cellist Yasemin Akıncılar, Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi, was attacked by two individuals with knives at a flea market in Kadıköy, Istanbul. Minguzzi suffered five stab wounds to his chest and is fighting for his life in intensive care, while footage of the horrific attack at the market has emerged.

HE WAS CATCALLED "YOU'RE VERY HANDSOME" The incident occurred on January 24, 2025, around 08:30 at the Historical Tuesday Market in the Hasanpaşa neighborhood of Kadıköy. According to allegations, 15-year-old high school student Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi went to the flea market with his friends to buy skateboarding equipment and clothes. While they were shopping, a person catcalled him, saying, "You're very handsome." Mattia responded, "Excuse me, brother." This led to a verbal argument between them. After a while, when the parties encountered each other again, a fight broke out.
ATTACKED WITH KICKS WHILE BLEEDING With the intervention of nearby shopkeepers, the suspect B.B. (15) was separated but then ran back and attacked Mattia with a knife. The young man was seriously injured after being stabbed multiple times. The other attacker, U.B. (16), kicked the child who collapsed on the ground in a pool of blood. As the attackers fled the scene, those moments were captured by security cameras.

It was learned that Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi, the son of renowned Italian restaurant Executive Chef Andrea Minguzzi and artist cellist Yasemin Akıncılar, is still receiving treatment in intensive care.
