LGS is over, and these scenes remain: Some forgot their ID, others went to the wrong school.

The LGS marathon has ended, but images that marked the exam day remain. From a student who came to the exam center with their sibling's ID to a candidate who went to the wrong school and burst into tears, to police officers mobilizing to help students make it to the exam and parents lending a helping hand, striking moments were witnessed across Turkey.

Hundreds of thousands of students across Turkey who will take the LGS exam arrived at exam centers early in the morning. Students whose ID and entry documents were checked were admitted to the school yards.

The exam, consisting of two sessions, ended around 13:00. For some students, the exam was filled with excitement and tension. Students who confused their exam school and came to the wrong school, or who forgot some documents at home, experienced minor crises. While police teams came to the rescue of some students who could not make it to the exam on time, a student in Zonguldak who mistakenly came with their sibling's ID was able to enter just 4 minutes before the exam. Here are scenes from the LGS across the country.

CAME TO THE EXAM WITH SIBLING'S ID, MADE IT IN THE LAST 4 MINUTES

In Zonguldak, the Science High School and the nearby Başöğretmen Atatürk Anatolian High School were among the schools designated as LGS centers.

During ID checks, it was determined that a male student had mistakenly come to the building with his sibling's ID document. Officials informed the child's mother about the situation. The mother contacted her brother-in-law, who had brought them to the exam center, and explained the situation. The uncle went to the home about 8 kilometers away from the school and brought the ID. With 4 minutes left before the doors closed, a police officer took the ID from the uncle, who had arrived in front of the school, and handed it to a teacher at the outer gate. The teacher ran across the school yard and delivered the ID to the child.

Some of the parents whose children were taking the exam waited by sitting on the school wall or on camping chairs they brought, drinking tea.

POLICE TEAMS HELPED STUDENTS WHO CONFUSED THEIR SCHOOL

Police teams came to the aid of students across the country who had confused their school or were running late. In particular, motorcycle police quickly transported students on their motorcycles, helping them make it to the exam in time.

In Diyarbakır, 25 students who went to Diyarbakır Anatolian High School and New Diyarbakır Anatolian High School, which are confused due to their names, were taken to the schools where they would take the exam with the support of police teams.

'IT COULD HAVE BEEN MY CHILD'

Sedat Arslanlar (35), a parent waiting in front of the school for the exam, said, 'One of our children had forgotten their ID at home. We helped them. A motorcycle courier, thank goodness, came and took the child to the population directorate to get a document so they could make it to the exam. Another friend of ours had also forgotten their ID at home. We had the parent of another student who forgot their ID brought from Seyrantepe by commercial taxi to get the ID. I paid the fare and tried to help. My child is also in the exam; it could have been my child. The goal is to help each other.'

PARENTS CAME TO THE AID OF A STUDENT WHO WENT TO THE WRONG SCHOOL

At Şişli Maçka Pakmaya Hüsamettin Ziler Middle School, as the exam time approached, a female student who arrived at the school realized she was at the wrong school when she checked her exam entry document. The student, in great panic, quickly left the school yard and ran to the other school next door. However, when it turned out that school was also not the correct exam location, the student burst into tears.

Minutes before the exam, not knowing what to do and trying to find the right school while crying, the student was rescued by other parents waiting at the school gate for their children. Nearby citizens and parents tried to calm the crying student and checked the correct school on the exam entry document. Seeing that time was running out, one parent ran with the female student to the school where she was supposed to take the exam. The female student managed to enter just seconds before the doors closed, making it to the exam at the very last moment.

SINCAN MUNICIPALITY PROVIDED TREATS FOR PARENTS AND STUDENTS

Sincan Municipality set up treat stands in front of all schools across the district for students participating in the LGS and their parents. During distributions that started early in the morning, bagels and fruit juice were given to students and their families. Parents expressed their satisfaction with the practice and thanked Sincan Mayor Murat Ercan and the municipal teams.

MERSIN METROPOLITAN MUNICIPALITY PROVIDED WATER TREATS

Mersin Metropolitan Municipality did not leave students and parents experiencing LGS excitement alone on exam day. Teams set up stands in front of 22 schools in 12 districts across the city and offered water to students taking the exam and families waiting in front of the schools.
