At a New Year's party in Moscow, a guest who drank a cocktail made with liquid nitrogen suffered a stomach rupture and was taken to intensive care. While liquid nitrogen is considered safe for kitchen demonstrations, it needs to be used only after it has completely evaporated. However, it was reported that the person who prepared the cocktail did not warn the participants about this.
A New Year's party in Moscow turned into a nightmare. A guest who drank a cocktail prepared with liquid nitrogen in the studio of the cooking show Game of Tables experienced a stomach rupture and was taken to intensive care. The incident shocked both the guests and the medical teams.
A NIGHTMARE OF A NEW YEAR'S PARTY
According to the Baza Telegram channel, a chef organized a cocktail show for the guests using liquid nitrogen to instantly freeze the ingredients. This substance is generally considered safe in kitchen demonstrations, but it must be used only after it has completely evaporated.
No WARNING GIVEN
The channel claims that a studio employee did not warn the participants about the danger and offered a guest to drink the mixture immediately after pouring it. In the released footage, a man is seen holding a paper cup filled with a steaming liquid from a thick-walled container. When the guest asked what he should do, a voice from off-camera told him to drink it.
TAKEN TO INTENSIVE CARE
Before drinking the cocktail, the man, who said, "It was nice to work with you," is seen experiencing a choking sensation immediately after sipping the drink, holding his stomach, and doubling over in visible pain.
The man was immediately taken to the hospital and underwent surgery. The victim later regained consciousness, but doctors did not disclose the seriousness of his condition.
A SIMILAR INCIDENT HAD OCCURRED BEFORE
This is not the first similar incident. In February, at a corporate event held in a cooking studio in St. Petersburg, a 23-year-old woman drank a soda containing liquid nitrogen and suffered burns in her esophagus.
WARNING ABOUT INTERNAL INJURIES
Medical experts warn that swallowing liquid nitrogen before it has completely evaporated can lead to serious internal injuries due to rapid expansion and extreme cold.
