A person in Adana live-streamed moments of playing bingo for gambling in an unlicensed café on their social media account. The police, who considered the broadcast a tip-off, caught the individual and 22 people playing gambling in a raid on the café. Those caught gambling were fined 203,434 Turkish lira.
B.A., who was running an unlicensed coffee house in the Kuruköprü neighborhood of Seyhan district in Adana, broadcasted the moments of a tombala lottery game live on his social media account.
22 PEOPLE CAUGHT IN THE ACT
Upon seeing the broadcast, the teams from the Moral Bureau of the Public Order Branch Directorate, who accepted it as a tip-off, raided the coffee house. The police caught B.A., the owner of the establishment, and 22 people playing gambling in the act.
203 THOUSAND 434 LIRA FINE IMPOSED
During the search of the coffee house, 91 tombala cards used for gambling, 4,095 lira, and 345 bolts were seized. A fine of 203,434 lira was imposed on those caught playing gambling.
Legal action was taken against B.A., the owner of the establishment, for the crime of 'providing a place and means for gambling.' It was also reported that the suspect had previously been processed for the same crime.
